UniCredit-Commerzbank merger: bigger than BBVA-Sabadell, but less profitable

UniCredit CEO Andrea Orcel has opened the door to a possible acquisition of German bank Commerzbank by the Italian group. The merger would create a giant with 1.3 trillion euros in assets and around 12.3 billion in annual profits, according to calculations by Goldman Sachs.
