Netanyahu, between two fires with Hezbollah: “We will harm anyone who harms us”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denounced the exchange of fire with Lebanon early in the morning. “Whoever harms us, we will harm him,” the Israeli leader warned, adding that he would do “everything possible to protect the country” after the wave of large-scale attacks by Israeli aircraft against Hezbollah positions in Lebanon.

“This morning, we detected Hezbollah's preparations to attack Israel. “In consultation with the defense minister and the chief of staff, we ordered the IDF to act proactively to eliminate the threat,” Netanyahu explained at the start of his meeting with the security cabinet to address the situation.

The Israeli president stressed that the army had worked “vigorously” to counter the threats, destroying thousands of rockets and acting “with all its strength, both in defense and attack.”

Netanyahu led the operations against Lebanon from the Kirya military base in Tel Aviv at dawn, accompanied by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who declared a state of military emergency and contacted his American counterpart, Lloyd Austin, to inform him of what had happened. (Efe)
