As their feud reaches new heights, Tracy Ann-Oberman has rushed to the defence of Sharon Osbourne despite having a friendship with Amanda Holden. The 57-year-old took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post Amanda’s comments towards Sharon and her X-Factor co-star Louis Walsh as well as Sharon’s lengthy statement in retaliation.
Sharing her thoughts, the former EastEnders actress penned: “Normally hate showbiz nonsense but this is bl**dy sad – no woman should drag another woman under in this industry.
“It’s hard enough as it is. @MrsSOsbourne has been a working icon from before most of us left school and AH works her butt off to stay in the work limelight too. Support each other please – women supporting women is what it’s all about these days. Let’s show the kids how it’s done.”
One of Tracy’s followers commented: “Totally agree. We should be straightening each other’s crowns not kicking them off.” She responded: “But @MrsSOsbourne is class. Always looked up to her work ethic.”
Tracy’s comments come as a bit of a surprise considering she’s friends with the Britain’s Got Talent judge. The pair enjoyed a weekend away along with Angela Griffin, Lisa Faulkner, Tamzin Outhwaite, Sarah Paris and Nicola Stephenson in 2022.
The girl gang gave an insight into their get-together on Instagram as they gathered for their “yearly Christmas office do” following 23 years of friendship.
Amanda, 53, told MailOnline in an interview published on Friday: “I hated seeing certain people in a reality show dissing Simon – he’s the person who’s given them all the chances, given them a lot of money and a lifestyle they probably wouldn’t have had.
“It’s bitter and pathetic. It was like Cinderella with her two sisters in the background – just stabby, stabby, stabby.”
Not taking it lying down, Sharon, 71, responded after taking issue with Amanda’s claim that Simon gave her “all the chances, a lot of money and a lifestyle they probably wouldn’t have had”.
Sharon told her 1.4 million Instagram followers: “The truth is, you don’t know me, Amanda, or any of my close friends. “You know nothing about my history in the music industry, my achievements, the artists I have worked with, the shows that I have produced and my global celebrity.
“Unlike you, the brand of Sharon Osbourne is known worldwide. There are many countries that I could work in if I choose to, however, I don’t have the ambition or time to do so… the truth is, my money and success were not due to doing a couple of Simon Cowell talent shows.
“Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed doing them at the time as they were great fun. Yes, Simon paid me very well. Probably more than what you are receiving today, but all of that my darling went on a few handbags…
“No disrespect to Simon Cowell, but he NEEDED ME for musical credibility on X Factor and I delivered for him and together all of us made a great team,” the ITV star expressed.
