Deals on wheels: Drive-away prices, strong supply for Hyundai Staria Load

Hyundai is offering nationwide drive-away pricing for its Staria Load cargo van as it touts strong supply.

It’s currently offering the base Staria Load with twin swing doors or a lift-up tailgate for $49,490 drive-away. This represents a saving of $1391.50 in Victoria and $1279.08 in New South Wales. For now, this deal has an end date of April 30, 2024.

Crew Van and Premium models don’t receive nationwide drive-away pricing. The Crew Van includes a second row of seating, while the Premium has a richer feature list.

Hyundai is also currently offering 10 per cent off its range of accessory packs.

The company says it has strong stock of the Staria Load nationwide, in contrast with the segment’s best-selling van – the Toyota HiAce – which is facing extended wait times.

Hyundai Australia says it “has been working hard to secure incremental supply”, and to that end it now has 944 Staria Loads in dealer stock and 210 in compounds.

The company says it has a “healthy production pipeline”, and 689 are currently loaded up on ships on their way here.

All Staria Load models are powered by a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine producing 130kW of power and 430Nm of torque, mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

While the related Staria people mover offers this engine with all-wheel drive, the Staria Load is front-wheel drive-only.

In the first quarter of 2024, Hyundai sold 802 Staria Loads, making it the third best-selling van in its segment.

The LDV G10 just pipped it with 828 sales, while the Toyota HiAce trounced everything in the segment with 2660 sales – good for a 47.1 per cent share of the segment, against 14.2 per cent for the Hyundai.
