On November 5, Americans elected the 47th president of the United States. The current vice president of the United States, the Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris, and the former president, the Republican candidate, Donald Trump, are competing for the post. The election outcome will likely be decided by seven swing state parties.

Nationally, 44 percent of voters view Donald Trump positively — 2 percentage points less than a similar survey conducted during the 2020 presidential election. 54 percent of voters view Trump negatively.

In contrast, Kamala Harris is viewed positively by 48 percent. voters, four percentage points fewer than viewed Joe Biden favorably in 2020. 50 percent of voters viewed Harris negatively.
