A total of 126 fires were successfully extinguished in the last 24 hours in the country. This was reported by the General Directorate of “Fire Safety and Population Protection” (GDPBZN) to the Ministry of Internal Affairs on its website. Directorate employees responded to 151 accident reports.
24 fires caused direct material damage, eight of which occurred in residential buildings.
Fires occurred 102 times without causing material damage, 61 of which occurred in dry grass, forest litter and bushes.
17 rescue and relief operations were carried out, two of which involved vehicle accidents. There were no fatalities or injuries in the fire.
A total of 24 hectares of coniferous forest and stored wood – about 20 cubic meters – burned yesterday in the “Verigovo” district of the city of Hisarya, the fire brigade said. The incident was reported in the early hours of the morning, and five firefighters, volunteers and forestry officers took part in the extinguishing.
