A driver in a car with Kardzhali registration hit and killed an elderly pedestrian on the spot today at noon at the intersection of Boulevard “Saedinenie” in Haskovo, the press service of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
The driver is 19 years old, but it is stated from which city according to the registration address. A younger female passenger also got into the car with him.
The police press service said that the area where the traffic accident occurred has been closed and operational teams are still carrying out inspections at the location. It is being assessed how fast the driver of the car was driving, as well as whether the woman was crossing a pedestrian path, such as those on the section along the route.
Based on preliminary data, the old woman is around 74 years old. He died on the spot due to the impact. Alcohol and drug tests carried out by the driver returned negative indicators, the police press office said.
