CFR is tendering for the work to reopen the Galati-Bârlad line, which was affected by the flood

CFR SA has announced the launch of a tender for the purchase of design services and implementation of the reopening of train traffic on the Galati-Bârlad line, which was affected by natural disasters on 14-15 September 2024, the section between CF Foltești and Bârlad stations.

The estimated value of the contract exceeds 48 million lei, financing sources are provided from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and from CNCF CFR SA's own revenues, as well as from other legally established sources.

The work carried out includes: demolition of existing superstructures, preparation of the embankment base (levelling, compacting, backfilling with local materials, patching, replacing damaged rails, backfilling with crushed stone and new sleepers, technological work on line (loading, profiling and stabilization) and returning the soil to its original form.

The duration of contract implementation is 120 days (4 months), of which 30 days for design and 90 days for work implementation.

The deadline for submitting bids is November 25, 2024, 15.00.
