Daniel Silveira asked to receive parole

Lawyer Paulo Faria, who worked to defend Daniel Silveira, asked for the conditional release of his former deputy, this Tuesday, 5.

According to Faria, Silveira served 17 days beyond the legal time limit for receiving those benefits. Currently, the former MP is in an agricultural colony, in Magé (RJ).

“The actual amount of sentence served, 984 days, including redemption pending approval, 36 + 62 days, equates to 1,082 days of sentence served, with 1,065 days needed to activate the benefits,” the lawyer said. “Therefore, 17 days beyond the statutory time limit for granting parole is, objectively, eligible to receive such benefits.”

Faria also cited Silveira's good behavior in prison, based on a criminology examination, and also asked for pardon.
