Jeyhan Ibryamov released from detention

Ceyhan Ibryamov was released shortly after midnight this evening from the capital's investigative detention center in “GM Dimitrov”, where he was detained following a police operation in early October. On his way out, he met his wife Birshen Ibryamova and her supporters.

Investigations against him will be suspended when he is sworn in as a member of parliament, as he enjoys immunity, announced today by Sofia city prosecutor Iliyana Kirilova. He pointed out that the prosecutor's decision regarding Ibryamov's release took effect from Tuesday.

Ceyhan Ibryamov was elected as a member of parliament from Shumen's “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms” list.

BTA remembers that on October 10, the Court of Appeal in Sofia upheld the detention order Jeyhan Ibryamov, accused of influence peddling, and permanently detained.

In early October, Ibryamov was detainedand the prosecutor's office announced that the amount of BGN 100,000, previously described, was found during his arrest.
