US Vice President Kamala Harris, who is running for president against Donald Trump, called him to congratulate him on his victory, world news agencies reported, citing an adviser to Harris.
Through this telephone call, Harris admitted her defeat in the election against Trump. He has emphasized to future presidents of the United States that the transition of power must be peaceful and that it is important for him to be a president for all Americans.
“President Trump thanked Harris for her determination, professionalism and hard work throughout her career. Both leaders agreed that the country needs to come together,” a Trump spokesperson said of his conversation with Harris.
Today Harris will make a statement regarding the election results, which her office has announced.
Biden is expected to make a statement tomorrow, according to ABC.
