Kamala Harris is the one who will certify Donald Trump's victory in the presidential election

Donald Trump's presidential victory will be certified in the US Congress in January by Trump's defeated presidential candidate – Vice President Kamala Harris, the Associated Press reports.

According to the US Constitution, the Vice President of the US is the chairman of the Senate and the role of the President of the Senate is to announce the results of the election to the White House. This happened on January 6th.

Under normal circumstances, the vice presidential vote counting procedure is a mere formality and the final step in the complex technical process of selecting a new US government.

But four years ago, that almost didn't happen. Trump refused to accept defeat and stormed the Capitol just as Vice President Mike Pence was about to certify Democrat Joe Biden's victory. Trump supporters chanted “Hang Mike Pence” as they vandalized offices in the US Capitol.

Pence acknowledged this reality in his lengthy statement to Congress. He concluded that the vice president could not claim “unilateral authority” to reject a state's electoral votes. And on January 7 2021, Pence reopened a joint session of the US Congress to certify Biden's victory.
