Councilor Dário Medina (PP), from the city of Palma (MG), was arrested in connection with the attempted murder of his ex-wife, 35 years old, which was carried out on Monday morning (4/11) in the Cisneiros district, about 150 kilometers from Juiz de Fora. Based on the incident report recorded by the Military Police, he allegedly took out a firearm, pointed it at the victim's chest and pressed the trigger three times, but the weapon did not fire.
The case occurred at around 07.30, when the woman was about to go to work at the Guardianship Council. She is stopped nearby by Dário, who is unhappy about the recent end of the relationship. The lawmaker wants to talk, but his ex won't. When he refused, he was pushed to the ground.
At that time, the council member took out a gun from his trouser pocket, put it to the victim's chest and pulled the trigger three times. Because the ammunition was exhausted, shots were not fired. The man then fled towards the city of Laranjal.
