A new entry in the Virtua Fighter series was finally confirmed to be in the works today.

While there's nothing else to add about the game, it's great to know that the series is coming back in a big way.
While welcome, the confirmation of a new Virtua Fighter game in development comes as no surprise, as SEGA brought back the franchise with Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown, an enhanced remake of the fifth entry in the series, which was released on PlayStation 4 in 2021. The game exceeded the expectations of the publisher, which made no secret of it future plans for the serieswhich is coming to fruition with the newly announced game, rumored to be a reboot launched on all major platforms complete with cross-platform play support and netcode rollback.
