Berlin – Caregivers, caregiver associations and other interest groups are dissatisfied with the Federal Ministry of Justice (BMJ) caregiver remuneration reform plans. The Federal Caregivers Association has now emphasized this through a petition and around 15,000 signatures.
The aim of the campaign is to fundamentally adapt the draft law. The association is concerned that many permanent nurses will have to bear huge financial losses. Care associations have also recently expressed concerns. The signatures were submitted Friday.
The bill actually provides for an increase in remuneration for professional caregivers and full-time guardians by an average of 12.7 percent from 2026. At the same time, the compensation system must be changed.
According to the Federal Association for Life Support, these reforms in many cases could cause significant harm – especially if poor people receive legal aid in their own homes.
The Institute for Liberal Professions also came to the conclusion in its report that significant sales losses were expected. The reasons include the cessation of the current inflation compensation. © kna/aerzteblatt.de
