Former Russian President and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev suggestedthat the outcome of the US presidential election would benefit Russia's interests in a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Medvedev served as president from 2008 to 2012 and currently serves as deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council. Since the beginning the war in Ukraine encouraged anti-Western rhetoric, often threatening Kiev's allies with Moscow's nuclear potential. Just days before the US election, a Russian politician thinks so “Senior American officials for some reason believe that Russia “will never cross a certain line,” that is, they will not use nuclear weapons. – They were wrong, he saidwhile emphasizing that taking his words seriously “will allow us to avoid World War III.”
