In the United States, the stock exchange in New York was on the positive side at the end of the trading day Tuesday after a decline the previous day.

The technology-focused Nasdaq closed up 1.4 percent, while the broader S&P 500 rose 1.2 percent. In contrast, the industrial-oriented Dow Jones ended the day up 1.0 percent.

The United States will vote on Tuesday local time, among other things, to determine its next president. The presidential election is practically a battle between Kamala Harris from the Democrat Party and Donald Trump from the Republican Party.
