Attacking the National Theater was a barbaric act, writes Kiril Petkov, from “We continue the changes” defining what happened as a pogrom

Attacking the National Theater is a barbaric act that we, as citizens of independent Bulgaria, must not allow, wrote one of the heads of “We continue the change” (PP). Kiril Petkov on his Facebook profile on the occasion of the protest in front of the theater tonight.

In turn, from PP also wrote on social networks, that the pogrom that occurred in front of the National Theater was an attack on freedom of opinion, art and creative freedom.

According to the formation, one of the main goals of the “pseudo-patriotic forces” is to return Bulgaria 60 years ago.

“For us, the attack on the National Theater “Ivan Vazov” was not a spontaneous protest, but an active event organized by people close to the alleged former State Security,” the party added and condemned the attack on an institution.

We want to live and pass on a free and democratic country to our children.

We call on the Ministry of the Interior to immediately assume its functions and restore public order in Sofia city center, ensure citizens' free access to the theater, and arrest those responsible for the pogrom.
