Elections for the mayor of the village of Kriva bara, Vratsa region, will be held on February 16, new elections for members of the municipal council in Sandanski – on February 23. In today's Central Election Commission (CEC) meeting, its chairman Kamelia Neikova reported receiving a copy of President Rumen Radev's decision.
This was announced through a decree of the head of state on November 6 this year when elections for some mayors of city halls in villages were scheduled. Kriva bara, Kozloduy municipality, Vratsa region, on February 16, 2025. A copy of the presidential decree of November 4 has been received, according to which new elections for members of the Sandanski municipal council are scheduled for February 23, 2025, Neikova also informed.
In mid-October this year the mayor of Kriva bara village, Kozloduy municipality, Iliyan Ivanov, diedconfirmed for BTA from Saint Anna University Hospital for Active Treatment, Sofia, where he was admitted for treatment. After that, the Municipal Election Commission – Kozloduy decided to end its powers prematurely and the CEC suggested to the President that a partial election of the mayor of the village be scheduled.
The CEC also decided to send to the “Information Services” section for verification regarding the lack of video recording of the vote counting.
