Civil Police officers from the Robbery and Cargo Theft Station (DRFC) discovered a quantity of food worth around R$45,000, this Thursday (7), in Duque de Caxias, Baixada Fluminense. According to the corporation, agents went to the Parque Ana Clara community after receiving information that a truck driver was being held hostage there.
This action is part of the 2nd phase of “Operation Tourniquet” which aims to suppress robbery, theft and receipt of cargo and vehicles.
Arriving at the location, the team was attacked by criminals and a confrontation occurred. Agents were able to locate the cargo inside a home, within the community. When police arrived, the driver had been released along with the vehicle.
During the investigation, agents identified three criminals who took part in the action. Efforts are ongoing to find and arrest them.
