This year, as in the previous five years, no water system was implemented in the Vidin area, the manager of “Water Supply and Sewerage” – Vidin Eng. Ilko Iliev.
According to Iliev, there has indeed been a decrease in the flow rate of water sources, but so far in recent years there have only been short-term and episodic water supply problems, without the need for a regime.
“So far, but if next year is the same as this, I can't make a prediction yet,” said manager Vidin.
In the Vidin area there are no dams that can be used for drinking and household needs. Water for this purpose is provided by about 85% underground water sources and 15% surface water sources, explained Eng. Ilko Iliev.
According to the bulletin of the Ministry of Environment and Water on the state of water in complex and significant dams, one of the large water basins used for irrigation needs – Lake Rabisha, has a usable volume of 23%. The total volume of the reservoir is 43.2 million. cubic meters, and currently there are 11,787 million. cubic meters of water.
