Investing.com – Shares in Spain were higher after the close on Thursday, as rising indices and sectors sent shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the index rose 0.69%.
The best performer of the session was ArcelorMittal SA (BME:), which rose 6.60% or 1.53 points and traded at 24.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Acerinox (BME:) added 4.70% or 0.43 points to end at 9.47 and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA (BME:) rose 4.15% or 0.37 points to 9.34 in late trading.
The worst performer of the session was Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:), which fell 12.29% or 9.30 points and traded at 66.35 at the close. Telephonics (BME:) fell 1.98% or 0.09 points to end at 4.20 and Aena SME SA (BME:) fell 1.69% or 3.40 points to 198.00.
Rising shares outnumbered declining shares on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 138 to 59 and 22 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery rose 1.01% or 27.00 to $2,703.30 per troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery rose 0.52% or 0.37 to hit $72.06 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.59% or 0.44 to trade at $75.36 per barrel.
EUR/USD rose 0.60% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.17% to 0.83.
US Dollar Index Futures were down 0.62% at 104.33.
