Two Bretons won the world pizza championship held on November 5 and 6 in Menton (Alpes-Maritimes).
They were “on cloud nine”. Cyrille Auffret and Jérôme Gourmelen were crowned world champions in 2017 pizzaduring the competition held in Menton on 5 to 6 November 2024 (Alpes-Maritimes). The two Bretons won a total of four prizes, reports Western Franceincluding the best sweet pizza.

“We didn't come without a reason”
As a duo they obtained first place for their pizza “Breizh Hato”, consisting of Monts-d'Arrée pigeon and Japanese orange. “We are really on cloud nine. We came to Menton not without a reason, this is a great reward after thorough preparation. All our pizzas were gifted, we are really very happy”, rejoiced Cyrille Auffret to our colleagues .
Organized by the pizzaiolos association Équipe de France, the first multi-category World Pizza Cup saw around fifty participants from a dozen different countries compete.
