The One Direction star was using drugs before his death, three people have been charged

Liam Payne, a member of the boy band One Direction, had been using drugs and prescription medication before his death, Argentine prosecutors said Thursday.

According to prosecutors, toxicology results showed Payne had used alcohol, cocaine and antidepressants in the moments before his death and during the last three days of his life.

According to prosecutors, three people are accused of supplying drugs to Payne. Apart from that, one of them was also charged with abandoning someone in a vulnerable condition.

According to prosecutors, one of the defendants was an employee of the hotel where Payne was staying.

Payne has spoken openly about his mental health issues and his struggles with substance abuse.

Payne died after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on October 16. He was 31 years old when he died.
