The Philippines is poised to reach higher levels of relations with the United States under Donald Trump's administration

The Philippine government is ready to achieve higher levels of relations between the Philippines and the US under the administration of US President-elect Donald Trump, Philippine Foreign Secretary Enrique Manalo said today, as quoted by the Philippine News Agency (FNA).

Manalo said he looks forward to working with his colleagues who will be part of the Trump administration.

“The Philippines reaffirms its commitment to continue working with the US to advance Philippines-US relations. I look forward to working with our (US) partners to elevate our relations to a higher level under President-elect Donald Trump's administration.” said the Philippine Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Manalo congratulated the US for successfully holding Tuesday's presidential election, saying it confirmed “the stability of American democratic values ​​and institutions”.
