Nominations for the Finnish Prize for fiction were announced today. A selection board called by the Finnish Book Foundation decided on six nominees. The winner is chosen by the book foundation's voters, who this year was actress Alma Pöysti. The prize is worth 30,000 euros.
Earlier this week, the award nominations for children's and young adult literature and non-fiction were announced. The Finnish winners of all categories will be announced on November 27.
This year, the prize will be awarded for the 41st time. Last year's Finnish fiction prize was won by Sirpa Kähkönen's 36 urns.
