Alba's Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU) announced that the Alba Iulia Fire Department intervened to extricate a person trapped under a mall land in the municipality of Alba Iulia, near the stadium.
“The crew has arrived at the scene. The person trapped under the earth bank is conscious, cooperative. Work is underway to consolidate the earth bank and get the person out,” said ISU Alba spokesperson Alex Crisan.
According to witnesses, the man was working with three other colleagues in a ditch more than 2.5 meters deep, and at one point, initially only his feet were covered with soil. Soon, the river bank surged and the man was almost completely covered in dirt.
This is the second workplace accident to occur in similar circumstances this week in Alba. A few days ago, a young man died and another was seriously injured during the consolidation of the Bucerdea valley.
