“Alice. Bożena. Me”: A sad read

“Alice. Bożena. Me”: A sad read

The subtitle: “The Wahl Sisters and the Bohemia of the Polish People's Republic” sets out a story about the twins, famous artists of their time, against the backdrop of the environment around them (“colorful and exotic butterflies, surrounded by the cult of sparrows and hatred of magpies and crows”), but the reader only gets a “square” sensation. The author, Alicja's partner of 20 years, gives readers insight into the Wahl sister's personal life, believing that her habit of tact and sometimes silence towards those who are absent does not apply to her. He wrote the book several years after his divorce from Alicja (he never saw her again), who died four years ago.
