Cooperation in the field of migration was discussed by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia and the Director General of the International Center for Migration Policy Development

Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic today spoke in Belgrade with Director General of the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICDM) Michael Spindeleger to strengthen cooperation in the field of migration management and security, TANYUG reported.

Dacic recalled that Serbia has been a full member of this organization since 2014 and emphasized the importance of cooperation with the ICRC for Serbia and the entire region. He added that Belgrade is ready to continue strengthening its capacities in the field of migration management, as well as becoming a reliable partner in the fight against illegal migration and human trafficking, the interior ministry said in a statement.

At the meeting, Spindelegger praised Serbia's efforts in the field of migration policy and security, and emphasized the importance of its role in regional projects.

Dacic and Spindelegger considered this meeting to be another confirmation of the importance of the partnership between Serbia and the ICRC in solving contemporary challenges related to migration through cooperation and joint efforts.
