For the first time in history, a woman became White House chief of staff – Susie Wiles, head of Donald Trump's election campaign. This is the first nomination for Trump, who will shape his administration in the coming weeks – what we wrote in “Rzeczpospolita”.
Donald Trump on Susie Wiles: Smart, tough, respected
The White House chief of staff plays a role similar to the president's chief of staff. He handles, among other things: the presidential calendar, and is also responsible for contacts with other administrative departments and members of parliament.
“Susie was tough, smart, innovative, and widely admired and respected,” Trump wrote of Wiles, 67. “I'm sure our country will be proud of him,” he added.
Since the day of the presidential election, Trump has lived at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. According to sources quoted by Reuters, the president-elect is currently forming an administration that may include many people who worked with Trump during his first term of office, in 2017-2021.
