Rogelo “Roger” Nores, an Argentinian friend of Liam Payne who was with the singer moments before he died at a hotel in Buenos Aires, has been charged in the artist's death. Seeing these new facts, his friend detailed his last moments with the former One Direction member.
“I am heartbroken by this tragedy and miss my friend every day,” Nores said in an interview with British newspaper the Daily Mail.
Nores is accused of leaving Liam to die and being an accomplice in supplying drugs to Payne. Under Argentinian law, he can be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison, but the singer's friends deny that he abandoned her.
“I never left Liam, I went to his hotel three times that day and left there 40 minutes before it happened. There were 15 people in the hotel lobby, talking and joking with him as I left. I never imagined something like this would happen,” he complained.
Apart from Roger, two other people, who worked at the hotel where Liam Payne stayed and died, were charged in the singer's death. They are also accused of supplying the British singer with drugs.
