Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been informed of an “extremely violent incident” targeting Israeli citizens in Amsterdam, Reuters reported, citing Netanyahu's office.
The Prime Minister has ordered two rescue planes to be sent immediately to bring in Israeli citizens affected by the incident.
Israel's Ministry of National Security urged Israelis in Amsterdam not to leave their hotels following the attack.
A statement by Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said those affected were football fans who were anti-Semitic and attacked with unimaginable cruelty because they were Jewish and Israeli.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar asked the Dutch embassy to help Israeli citizens get to Amsterdam airport safely.
