The anthology “Kısaca” will be presented on November 13 at the National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” (NBKM). The book is a bilingual edition of Mani with a translation into Bulgarian, the library reported.
According to them, in folklore culture, mani is a poem that usually rhymes in the first, second and fourth stanzas. The performance is performed on various occasions and is common among almost all people who speak Turkish. In Bulgaria, such verses have been documented among Turks, Tatars and Gagauz, NBKM reports. They added that these works are unknown to the general public, have a love-humorous character and were collected for publication from different regions of Bulgaria.
The authors of this anthology are Behrin Shopova, Zoya Mikova and Aziz Shakir from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, who are also translators of the quatrains included in the book.
