The National Public Security Force (FNSP) will work with 95 agencies in the security scheme for the G20 Summit meeting, which will be held on the 18th and 19th of this month, in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
According to the Ministry of Justice, agents will carry out open and preventive policing around the event and at the conference location, at the Museum of Modern Art (MAM), in the city center.
“The National Forces' actions were guided by federal cooperation, acting as support to local security forces. The use of staff is always additional and follows the planning of the requesting body. Furthermore, FNSP mobilization occurs at the official request of the Governor of a State, Federal District, or Minister of State, as stipulated in art. 4 Decree No. 5,289 of 29 November 2004”, informs the Minister's note.
Apart from the National Forces, the military police and federal highway police will participate in the security scheme. The Army's participation still depends on the issuance of the Guarantee of Law and Order (GLO) decision, by the Presidency of the Republic.
The G20 will bring together leaders from the group of 19 countries, which are among the countries with the largest economies in the world. There will also be representatives from the European Union and the African Union who are members of the G20 as permanent members, as well as guests.
