Love General Toshevo and carry it as a part of yourself, because General Toshevo is all of us, wrote the Mayor of General Toshevo, Valentin Dimitrov, in his congratulatory speech to the city's residents.
“As each day passes, our hometown becomes a better place to live. It is a real joy for me that more and more young people choose to live in General Toshevo, to start a family here, where they themselves grew up. General Toshevo is our common home and we all must remember that what will happen depends on our deeds and actions. Let's love and care for it! “Let us preserve our heritage, our traditions and customs, so that General Toshevo remains as it always was – beautiful, lively and dignified,” the mayor also wrote.
The holiday begins with a solemn liturgy in the church “St. vmchk Dimitar” and continues on the square with a puppet show.
In the afternoon, the traditional festival of sarma and meatballs will begin with the participation of Uti Bachvarov. There will be a concert of the Professional Folk Ensemble “Dobrudja” as well as a concert of the group “Foundation”. The evening will end with a pyro music show.
The City of General Toshevo celebrates its holiday on November 8 based on a 1991 City Council decision.
Last year, more than 1,500 sarmas were prepared at the Sarma and Meatball Festival.
