The President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, announced Thursday (7/11) who will fill the position of chief of staff. Susie Wiles will be his direct assistant in the White House in the new Republican term.
The information is from ABC News. He was described by Republicans as “tough” and “smart.”
“Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history and was an integral part of my campaign's success in 2016 and 2020,” read an excerpt from Trump's statement.
The choice was seen by political analysts as a sign that Trump would use the new mandate to reward those who have been loyal to him in recent years. After leaving the White House, defeated by Joe Biden, Trump faced a series of trials over the allegations against him.
“It is a fitting honor to have Susie as the first female chief of staff in United States history. “I'm confident he will make our country proud,” Trump said in his statement.
Trump became the winner of the presidential election Wednesday (6/11) early morning Brasília time, with the minimum number of electoral delegates (270). He defeated the current vice president, Kamala Harris. The vote count is not yet complete, but he has 295 delegates to the Democrats' 226, as of 10:15 pm this Thursday.
