Josie Gibson’s healthy diet saw the TV host lose six stone in 12 months

Standing tall at 5ft 9in, Josie Gibson’s “healthy weight range” according to the NHS body mass index (BMI) calculator is between 9st to 12st.

Back in 2013, when Josie was in the limelight following a stint in Big Brother, the TV personality had enough of her bigger size.

She told Closer magazine in 2021: “I first embarked on a weight loss journey in 2013 when I shed 6st, over a year, with a combination of healthy eating and exercise.

“I used to cycle to the gym, do two HIIT sessions back to back and then cycle home again.”

While her efforts paid off, dropping five dress sizes, the mum-of-one has since had a change of priorities and perspective.

The 39-year-old said: “I don’t want to be really, really slim because it just kills me to get there – it takes a lot of exercise.

“I’m a mum with a job so it’s not do-able any more.” Josie had her son, Reggie, back in 2018, which led the TV present to pile on more than four stone.

Josie revealed: “I managed to get back on track after being warned I was at risk of developing type 2 diabetes, but I fell off the wagon again.”

Her aim then became to be a “healthy size 12” as she now holds an appreciation for her body creating another human life.

“It’s made a lovely little boy for me,” she told Closer. “I think after I had Reggie… I was instantly more body confident because your body has done something so spectacular, you can’t do anything but love it.”

Josie joined WeightWatchers (WW), a weight loss programme, that has been more giving and “one of the best decisions” she has made.

She told The Sun: “I’m making foods from as much zero points as I can. I was eating a lot of stodge before, but I can’t tell you the difference it’s made to my energy.

“I can get up and go. I’m actually waking up in the morning with a spring in my step – it’s been great, and I’m faster.”

When Josie referred to “zero point” foods, she is talking about WeightWatchers’ nutritious go-to options that don’t count towards your calorie intake. Examples include fruits, chicken and turkey breast, fish and shellfish, eggs, tofu and tempeh.

While Josie’s weight has gone up and down throughout the years, the star is now looking slim in her latest Instagram posts.

On Sunday, April 14, Josie posted a picture of herself in a flattering denim jumpsuit that she wore while on ITV’s last Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Rumours are currently swirling that Josie and Stephen Mulhern, who appeared on the show, could be dating.

The pair were spotted holding hands backstage during the filming of Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend.
