The first trailer for the latest reboot of Top Gear Australia has arrived, just one month before the show rolls out onto the Paramount+ streaming service.
A one-minute video showcasing what we can expect when the season premieres on May 17 was uploaded to YouTube, showcasing the challenges that will be faced by hosts Blair Joscelyne, Beau Ryan and Jonathan LaPaglia.
As with the UK show upon which it’s based, Top Gear Australia takes the presenters around the world as well as throughout the country, driving a vast array of cars from multi-million-dollar supercars to rust buckets.
The latter should be no stranger to Mr Joscelyne, better known as Moog from the highly successful YouTube channel Mighty Car Mods, which he founded with co-star and friend Marty Mulholland in 2007.
Mr Ryan was a former NRL football player who has since moved into the media realm, hosting The Amazing Race Australia in recent years, while Mr LaPaglia previously hosted Australian Survivor.
BBC Australia and New Zealand will produce the eight-part series, which will exclusively be shown on Paramount+.
Top Gear Australia previously ran for four seasons, with a revolving door of hosts that included Warren Brown, Charlie Cox, James Morrison, Shane Jacobson, Ewen Page and Steve Pizzati.
The UK version of Top Gear is being “rested”, following a crash which caused serious facial injuries to co-host Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff in late 2022.
