Israeli forces kill 17-year-old Palestinian near Ramallah

Israeli troops killed a 17-year-old Palestinian boy on Wednesday near the town of Nilin, west of Ramallah in the occupied Palestinian territory of the West Bank, according to the Health Ministry. The victim was identified as Hasan Yousef Hassan Al Shaer, from the town of Habla, south of the Palestinian governorate of Qalqilya. No further details are known at this time and the army has not explained what happened.

Another 55-year-old Palestinian also died yesterday in the suburb of Shuweika, north of the West Bank city of Tulkarem, after being shot in the chest by Israeli forces.

Over the past two days, military incursions and raids on Palestinian homes have also taken place in both points, with a total of 40 detainees, including a child, according to the Palestinian Prisoners' Commission (PPSMO).

In Bethlehem (in the central West Bank), at least 17 people were arrested and then released “after hours of interrogation and beatings”, while three others remain detained. In Ramallah, forces stormed the villages of Jifna and Al Amari camp, where they arrested two young men after raiding their homes.

And in Hebron (southern West Bank), troops arrested eight people in the Al Fawwar camp, where, according to the PPMSO, a military incursion is continuing. “Threats were made against the detainees and their families, in addition to acts of vandalism and destruction of houses,” the text details.

The total number of Palestinians detained in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since October 7th stands at more than 10,700. (Efe)
