The case concerns more than 13,000 votes – 11,300 votes cast in Clark County (the capital is Las Vegas) and more than 1,800 votes cast in Washoe County – reports the New York Times.

In order for votes cast by mail in Nevada to be counted, the signature on the ballot delivery envelope must match the signature in the registered voter database. Signature discrepancies must be “corrected” or verified by the voter.
Currently, Nevada Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar is supposed to send text information to voters whose signatures must be verified before being considered valid.
