WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison is not expected to seek reelection when his party holds a leadership vote early next year, according to two sources familiar with his thinking.
Harrison, who has come under fire for his strong support for keeping Joe Biden in the 2024 election, signaled his plans to leave office before Tuesday's disappointing results for Democrats, the sources said.
Harrison is expected to hold an all-staff meeting on Wednesday to discuss the results and why they did not meet his public expectations and also to discuss a possible timeline for the leadership election, which is expected to take place before April.
Harrison did not respond to a request for comment.
