Bulgarian women's volleyball champions Maritsa (Plovdiv) lost to visiting Polish vice-champions Developress (Rzeszów) in their first match in their Champions League group for the season.
Marichanki lost 1:3 (31:29, 17:25, 8:25, 11:25) match to the hosts at Podpromje Hall in Rzeszów in Group A of the tournament.
