Number 2 seed Kasper Ruud was knocked out in the second round of the Metz tennis tournament

Casper Ruud (Norway), ranked number 2 in the scheme, was eliminated in the second round of the tennis tournament on indoor hard courts in the French city of Metz, with a prize fund of 580 thousand euros.

Ruud lost to host representative Benjamin Bonzi 4:6, 4:6.

The Norwegian decided not to give up and took to the court in Metz despite qualifying for the ATP Finals in Turin after Novak Djokovic's withdrawal guaranteed him a place in the competition.

In the quarter-finals, Bonzi will face compatriot Kenten Allis who eliminated Pierre-Hugues Herber (France) 6:1, 4:6, 6:4.

In other matches in the competition, Zizou Bergs (Belgium) beat Hugo Gaston (France) 6-4, 7-5, and Cameron Norrie (Great Britain) beat Luca van Asch (Netherlands) 6-3, 3-6, 6: 1.
