The US has nuclear-capable B-52H Stratofortress bombers Train placed. The goal is to strengthen America's presence in the Middle East Iran to hinder. Six of these bombers, according to “Newsweek“ currently on display at Al-Udeid Air Base.
Bombers without nuclear weapons
Images of the aircraft were posted on X. Newsweek reports that five of these bombers can carry nuclear-capable AGM-86B cruise missiles, but operate without nuclear weapons.
According to Newsweek, the range of the B-52H bomber is 8,800 miles. The distance between Al Udeid Air Base and Tehran is 731 miles. The US has reached an agreement with Qatar to extend its military presence there for ten years.
“De-escalation through prevention”
The Pentagon announced the move on November 1. The bombers are intended to protect American troops and citizens in the Middle East, as well as US allies, including Israeldefend. “De-escalation through prevention” is the goal.
Newsweek reports that US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has deployed additional squadrons of fighter jets and tankers to the region. The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and its strike group are also preparing to deploy.
