In gastronomy, prices rose by 8.6%. each year, more than indicated by the inflation rate

A significant increase in the cost of running a catering business as a result of rising labor, energy and tax costs is visible in prices. This applies especially to the most frequently purchased dishes. For example, for the minimum wage for March this year. You can buy 128 pieces of pork, and in September – 124.

Less pork and pizza

It's no different with kebabs. In March, with the minimum wage, you could buy an average of 151 portions, in September – 148. In the spring, you could buy 177 portions of dumplings for this amount, and currently it is 168. The potential for buying pizza fell from 113 portions in in March to 111 in September.

The purchasing power of people with median income and above is decreasing. The average wage in March can buy 299 pieces of pork, and in September – 20 less.

The Pyszne.pl index, which shows changes in the level of gastronomic prices in October 2024, was 8.6%. This figure is still growing faster every year than the inflation rate (5% in October).
