In a press conference in Istanbul, the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism presented the results of the tourism sector for the third quarter of 2024 – informed in a press release the Cultural and Information Advisory Office of the Turkish Embassy in Poland.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that the number of tourists visiting Turkey in the first nine months of 2024 increased by 9 percent year-on-year to 49.2 million.
Tourism revenues increased by 7 percent during the period, reaching $46.9 billion. The average daily expenditure of foreign tourists is $107.
– Our results for the first nine months were the best in the history of the Republic of Turkey, which is why we set a new target for this year of 61 million visitors – said Ersoy, quoted in the release.
More than 1.5 million Poles in Türkiye
In the first nine months, 1.6 million Polish tourists went on holiday to Türkiye – 20.5 percent more than in the same period in 2023.
