According to tradition, the pilgrimage season to the Virgin of Guadalupe begins in Torreón, with the participation of current and former railroad workers on their Railway Day.
A large contingent left the old Railway Station facilities, which now house the Coahuila National Music Institute, on the Colón extension towards Our Lady of Guadalupe parish.
With a blow of the engine's whistle, the ride begins, where a group of current and former workers and their families, some of whom ride in a replica steam engine, travel along the Colón extension towards Juárez Avenue in the opposite direction, where a group of citizens are waiting. for them to pass.
In addition, each group of more than 200 people is accompanied by a traditional Aztec dance, with impressive feathers moving to the sound of drums.
This is how another season begins on the 80th anniversary of this tradition in Torreón.
Only on November 17 will the blessing of more than 100 dances that will accompany the pilgrims, who will depart from Alameda Zaragoza starting at 12 noon to be received at the parish.
And other contingents will participate starting November 19.
