The French Foreign Ministry summoned North Korean diplomats regarding Pyongyang's deployment of troops to Russia

The French Foreign Ministry summoned a general North Korean delegation to Paris last week to protest the deployment of North Korean troops in Russia and warned that Pyongyang's actions were not without consequences, Reuters reported.

“We are ready to react firmly in coordination with our partners,” French Foreign Ministry spokesman Christophe Lehmann said in response to a journalist's question about whether sanctions against North Korea were being discussed in light of sending its troops to Russia.

Lehmann emphasized that the Foreign Ministry summoned a delegation of North Korean generals in Paris on October 28 and told him that support for Russia's war in Ukraine would not be ignored.

France does not maintain diplomatic relations with Pyongyang, but the North Korean general's delegation is accredited by UNESCO, which is headquartered in Paris.
