The pro-Iran Shiite group Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets from Lebanon at targets in northern Israel today, setting off air raid sirens in Haifa and other areas, DPA reported.
The group claimed responsibility for the attack. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) counted nearly 50 rockets flying across the border.
Israel's equivalent of the Red Cross, the Magen David Adom service, said it had provided medical aid to an 85-year-old man injured by shrapnel.
A Hezbollah rocket attack yesterday killed a man, initially reported to be a foreign farm worker, later identified as an 18-year-old Israeli citizen.
The IDF reported that more than 170 rockets were fired at Israel yesterday.
