BOLZANO. Last night, at around 2am, during a regular patrol along Via Nazionale di Bronzolo, a Carabinieri patrol identified three men in front of the bank branch entrance and a large dark-colored car stopped in front with the engine running and the driver inside.
The soldiers then approached to carry out a search but, upon seeing the patrol, the men immediately returned to the car to escape. The crew immediately began giving chase but, despite using emergency equipment and immediately coordinating with Egna's operations center who immediately dispatched another patrol to provide support, the fleeing vehicle managed to lose track of it near the Bronzolo gas station, after traveling along the road. SS12 at very high speed.
An investigation by Egna Carabinieri is currently underway to trace the identities of the men who are suspected of preparing to steal the bank's ATM machine.
